Biography

Dr. Funwi Ayuninjam is the GGC聽director of Internationalization. He oversees the co-curricular component of campus internationalization, which includes education abroad, international student services, the English Language Institute, international partnerships, the Peace Corps Prep Program, and campus international/intercultural academic programs. He is a member of the Association of International Education Administrators and NAFSA: Association of International Educators, where he has served as NAFSA Academy Coach (2014-2015). Before coming to 妻友社区, Ayuninjam was the senior international officer at Central State University, Chatham University, Winston-Salem State University and Kentucky State University. In some of these institutions, he also taught courses in general linguistics, research, African studies, and interdisciplinary studies.

Ayuninjam co-founded聽the Southern Interdisciplinary Roundtable on African Studies and serves on the editorial committees of the Association of International Education Administrators, the Brill Journal of Asian and African Studies, and CEREC Publishing. He is the author of Voices from Africa and Beyond: A Collection of Poems, The Egg Polisher and Other Tales, and A Reference Grammar of Mbili. He has published many articles and book chapters, the most recent of which is 鈥淏eyond Curriculum Internationalization: Globalization for Intercultural Competence鈥 (in Curriculum Internationalization and the Future of Education, 2018).
