A group of GGC faculty members and one alum made significant contributions to the book, "."

Dr. Michael Gagnon, professor of history, co-edited the book. He also wrote the chapter, “Slavery and Cotton in Antebellum Gwinnett” and co-authored the chapter, “Reconstruction and Race in Gwinnett.”

Dr. Richard Cook, Jr, assistant professor of history, authored the chapter, “Cherokee and Creek Agency: Gwinnett County before the Button.”

Dr. David Mason, professor of history, authored the chapter, “Pluck and Luck: The Life of Buck Buchanan.”

Dr. Carey Shellman, associate professor of history, authored the chapter, “Alice Harrell Strickland (1859-1947): Civic Motherhood in Progressive Era Gwinnett County.”

Katheryn L. Nikolich, '13, history, authored the chapter, “Saving Gwinnett County: Preservation, Modernization, and the Three Women Who Informed a Sunbelt Suburb.”
