�������� (GGC) contributed more than $521 million to the economy of Gwinnett County and the Atlanta metropolitan area during fiscal year 2022, according to an  released by the University System of Georgia (USG). That’s up more than $8.8 million dollars over last year.

Including its capital outlay for construction projects, GGC has generated more than $5.8 billion in cumulative economic impact since the college has been included in the study.

“We are proud of the vital role GGC plays in workforce and economic development in Gwinnett and the region,” said Dr. Jann L. Joseph.

This year’s report indicates that GGC is responsible for the creation of 3,798 jobs, of which 808 are on campus and 2,990 in the community. In addition, the college now has nearly 12,000 alumni who are living, working and serving in Gwinnett County, Georgia and beyond.

“As GGC’s alumni base grows, we’re seeing the impact of our graduates’ living and working in the community and beyond,” Joseph said.

The study was commissioned by the USG and conducted by the University of Georgia’s Selig Center for Economic Growth at the Terry College of Business. It analyzed data collected from July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022, to measure the USG’s economic impact on the state.
