妻友社区 receives $25,000 grant to help students in times of crisis

The 妻友社区 (GGC) Foundation received a $25,000 grant from the Greater Atlanta COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund, a joint effort of the and the . Funds will support GGC鈥檚 Student Emergency Fund, which aids Pell-eligible GGC students with food, gasoline, housing, rent and utilities.

鈥淲e鈥檙e so pleased to be working with our community partners to help address the needs of our students,鈥 said GGC President Jann L. Joseph. 鈥淪tudent success is of utmost importance to GGC and we鈥檙e grateful that our partners are willing to invest in the wellbeing of our students.鈥澨

GGC鈥檚 Student Emergency Fund was established to provide basic necessities and address sudden emergencies so GGC students can keep moving forward with their education. Learn .

The provides resources to organizations working with communities disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and its economic consequences. The United Way of Greater Atlanta reported since the fund was announced in March.
